The Technical Consultant - Data Conversion is responsible for guiding clients through the technical aspects of Workday implementations. You'll design and execute data migration strategies, build integrations between Workday and external systems, and configure tenant environments to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with client teams to understand technical needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Develop and implement data integration workflows using ETL tools and scripting languages
- Transfer and transform data from legacy systems into Workday using tools like iLoad, EIB, or Advanced Load
- Prepare and configure Workday tenants, including managing configuration movement between environments
- Design and deploy analytics solutions that support business reporting and decision-making
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data discrepancies across systems
- Lead data mapping sessions and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams
- Support full-cycle software implementations from planning through production go-live
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least three years of experience in one of the following areas: data migration, integration development, reporting, software development, or technical consulting. Alternatively, experience in HR, Payroll, Financials, Supply Chain, or Student Information Systems may qualify.
- Proven experience with ETL processes, SQL, MySQL, XML, and Microsoft Excel
- Hands-on work with stored procedures or equivalent data manipulation tools
- At least two full lifecycle implementation projects completed
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Experience gathering data requirements, reconciling datasets, and moving systems to production
- Familiarity with Workday data tools such as iLoad, EIB, or Advanced Load is preferred
