Shape the safety foundation of next-generation vehicle systems
We’re seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to lead the development of vehicle-level safety cases for advanced driving functions and platform integration. In this role, you’ll ensure that safety is systematically embedded across the entire vehicle OS lifecycle—from concept through implementation and validation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive safety cases for vehicle systems, covering functions such as braking, steering, ADAS, and body controls
- Translate hazard analyses into clear, traceable safety requirements using methodologies like HARA, FMEA, and HAZOP
- Apply ISO 26262 standards—particularly Parts 3, 4, and 9—to guide system development, decomposition, and analysis
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and integration teams to verify end-to-end implementation of safety measures
- Develop and manage safety artifacts including hazard logs, FMEAs, safety case arguments, and traceability matrices
- Support vehicle bring-up and validation with safety-focused reviews aligned to system behavior
- Contribute to programs involving off-road or mining vehicles, with familiarity in ISO 19014 or ISO 13849 a plus
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 2 years in functional safety or systems engineering, ideally within an OEM or Tier-1 ADAS environment
- Proven experience developing vehicle-level safety cases and applying ISO 26262 to real-world systems
- Familiarity with system-level hazard analysis and safety requirements for complex vehicle or heavy machinery systems
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on work with HARA, HAZOP, System FMEA, and safety case derivation
- Understanding of vehicle subsystems including ADAS, braking, steering, and control architectures
- Ability to connect system, hardware, and software domains to ensure cohesive safety implementation
