Heidi Health is looking for a Staff Backend Solution Architect Engineer to architect and build the backend services that power LLM-based agents and clinical automations. You will partner directly with product, AI, and front-end engineers to ship new capabilities from concept to production in weeks.
What You'll Do
- Architect and build backend services that power LLM-based agents and clinical automations.
- Design robust APIs and data models that are secure, observable, and easy for other teams to extend.
- Optimize performance and cost—profile hot paths, tune databases, and right-size cloud resources.
- Automate quality: write unit and integration tests, craft alerts, and own on-call runbooks.
- Partner with product, AI, and front-end engineers to ship new capabilities from concept to production in weeks.
What We're Looking For
- Mastery of software-engineering fundamentals.
- Proven experience designing APIs (REST or GraphQL) and event-driven systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
- A deep coding and architect mindset with hands-on experience in test-driven development (TDD), AI coding, microservices, and eventual consistency.
- Deep database expertise in schema design, query optimization, and scaling for both relational and NoSQL stores.
- Cloud fluency in GCP or AWS, including containers, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, security, and observability.
- A track record of shipping and operating distributed systems at scale with high reliability.
- Rigorous testing, code-review, and documentation habits that elevate team standards.

- Hands-on work with AI/LLM services or real-time audio/streaming pipelines.
