Join a dedicated engineering team focused on building systems that directly support student success by reducing absenteeism and expanding learning time. In this role, you'll take ownership of backend services that process and analyze large volumes of student data, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance as the platform grows.
What You’ll Do
- Design and maintain backend components that power analytics, workflow automation, and family engagement features
- Scale and optimize data systems to handle tens of millions of records efficiently and securely
- Build and deploy new capabilities that improve outcomes for schools and students
- Automate monitoring and operational workflows to enhance system reliability
- Improve AWS infrastructure using Terraform, ECS, RDS, and messaging services like SQS and SNS
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn user needs into robust technical solutions
- Participate in technical discussions, advocating for solutions that balance speed, quality, and long-term sustainability
What We’re Looking For
- At least five years of experience developing scalable backend systems
- Strong technical skills in AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Experience with cloud services including ECS, RDS, Aurora, SES, SQS, and SNS
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and deliver on schedule
- Clear communication skills, especially when explaining technical trade-offs to diverse audiences
- Adaptability in fast-changing environments and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience working across engineering teams to align on goals and deliver cohesive results
- Fluency in written and spoken English
