As a Software Engineer focused on product development, you'll play a central role in shaping the technology that supports patient care and clinical operations. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and healthcare professionals to translate real-world needs into robust, user-centered solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of features—from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, and ongoing iteration.
- Design and maintain APIs, data models, and integrations that support core workflows in patient engagement, care coordination, and clinical processes.
- Build performant, reliable systems by applying sound engineering practices, including thoughtful error handling, efficient data access, and scalable architecture.
- Collaborate on architectural decisions to ensure systems are reusable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term product goals.
- Write thoroughly tested code and contribute to a culture of code quality through meaningful reviews and shared standards.
- Instrument features with analytics using consistent event tracking to measure user behavior and product impact.
- Help maintain monitoring tools and dashboards that reflect key user outcomes and system health.
- Work across the stack to debug and resolve issues using logs, traces, metrics, and data inspection.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners, adapting your message to the audience.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 4 years of experience building and shipping user-facing web applications in production environments.
- Proven ability to own features from idea to execution, working across frontend and backend systems.
- Solid full-stack skills, with proficiency in TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React.
- Experience building backend services using Node.js and Express, and working with relational databases like MySQL.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud or similar) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Strong problem-solving skills and judgment when balancing tradeoffs in complex, evolving domains.
- Experience working in regulated environments—especially healthcare, HIPAA, or systems handling sensitive data—is a plus.
- Exposure to health data systems such as EHRs or wearable integrations is beneficial but not required.
