The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician to perform a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing space flight sub-systems and support equipment. This is an hourly union-represented position within Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company.
What You'll Do
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis.
- Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
- Use precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
- Visually inspect electro-mechanical assemblies against drawings, engineering specifications, and written procedures.
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
- Document non-conformances and associated rework or repair.
- Perform soldering and rework of through-hole and SMT components.
- Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application, and coating processes.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- More than 3 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical, and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies.
- More than 3 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products.
- More than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards.
- More than 3 years of experience with soldering.
- More than 3 years of experience reading blueprints, working with manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Capable of lifting 20lbs or more frequently.
- Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods with short breaks.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required, Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start required).
Nice to Have
- More than 5 years of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g., avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays).
- More than 3 years of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
- More than 3 years of experience working in a Clean Room environment.
- More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Currently hold an IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification.
- More than 3 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
