NTT DATA is hiring a Networking Remote Field Service Engineer (L1)

About the Role

This role involves delivering remote field engineering support for networking systems, focusing on troubleshooting, configuration, and resolution of technical issues in alignment with service level agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues remotely
  • Perform initial configuration of networking hardware
  • Support escalation procedures for complex technical problems
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions accurately
  • Respond to service tickets within defined timeframes
  • Collaborate with higher-tier support teams when needed
  • Monitor network performance and report anomalies
  • Assist in deploying network devices at client sites
  • Follow standardized operating procedures for consistency
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking technologies
  • Provide status updates to clients and team members
  • Execute remote diagnostics using secure access tools
  • Validate network configurations post-implementation
  • Adhere to change management protocols
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required
  • Support firmware and software updates on network equipment
  • Troubleshoot VLAN and IP addressing issues
  • Assist in network security compliance checks
  • Work with limited supervision on routine tasks
  • Ensure compliance with client-specific policies
  • Escalate hardware failures to appropriate teams
  • Utilize ticketing systems to track incidents
  • Follow incident lifecycle from detection to closure
  • Maintain accurate records of client environments
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts

Nice to Have

  • CompTIA Network+ certification
  • CCNA or equivalent credential
  • Experience in enterprise network environments
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies
  • Knowledge of wireless networking fundamentals
  • Exposure to cloud-based network services
  • Experience with remote desktop and SSH tools
  • Understanding of VoIP and QoS configurations
  • Prior work in IT service desks or NOC roles
  • Training in safety and equipment handling
