ZF Friedrichshafen AG is hiring an Electromechanical Designer to join our Commercial Vehicle Solutions division. In this role, you will lead a multi-domain project team through all phases of solenoid valve development, from initial concept to series production. You will be the key link between our business units and customers to align technical requirements for new products and changes.
What You'll Do
- Lead a multi-domain project team through all project phases, from first idea to series production
- Work closely with our business units and customers to align technical requirements on new products or changes
- Ensure planning and execution of all engineering tasks along the ZF-CVS product development process, including design, validation, FMEA, Design to Cost, and gate reviews
- Create and track project time and budget plans, and be responsible for meeting project goals for time, cost, and quality
- Report regularly on project KPIs and status to engineering management, and solve problems for design reviews, test failures, and field claims
- For solenoid development: conduct joint development with integrated suppliers for detail structure, magnetic circuit, and air flow path
- Define the validation plan, review and approve test results, and collaborate with local and global actuator engineering teams
What We're Looking For
- A degree in electromechanics, electrical engineering, control engineering, or a related field, especially with a focus on automotive engineering or mechatronics
- Solid experience in solenoid product development
- Experience in EMC design, testing, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with solenoid validation, production processes, end-of-line testing, and magnetic simulation
- Good written and verbal command of English
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of 3D CAD systems (Creo), PLM, and PTC requirements management
- Understanding of functional safety requirements, specifically ISO 26262
- Experience in pneumatic system development, braking, ECAS, or AMT development
