Rockwell Automation is looking for an Application Consultant to join our team. In this remote role, you will report to the Application Consulting Manager and be responsible for developing technical solutions and management processes. You will implement systems or enterprise-wide solutions using a combination of Rockwell Automation and third-party hardware, software, products, and services.
What You'll Do
- Lead the front-end of business development, opportunity evaluation, and proposal definition within the Paper, Converting, Metals, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Crane & Hoist Team for our Industry Applications (IDA) Business.
- Develop, recommend, and guide solutions based on analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure.
- Participate in sales and proposal presentations and complete ongoing team account activities.
- Identify additional product and services opportunities within customer organizations.
- Develop business by contacting customers at appropriate management levels to pursue systems solutions and maintain the customer base.
- Develop growth strategy with assigned targeted accounts and applications within assigned industries.
- Collaborate with sales, proposals, contracts, engineering, and project management teams to establish value propositions and pricing strategies.
- Establish contractual risk mitigation strategies by performing risk analysis with Contracts and Negotiations.
- Assure proper definition of scope of work within released proposal documentation.
- Review and clarify customer commercial and technical specifications during solution development.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job.
- The ability to travel 25% of the time.
Nice to Have
- 5 years of experience in solution development related to AC/DC drives, control systems, process automation, or custom software/hardware development.
- Related experience working with specific applications in the Pulp, Paper, and/or Converting industry markets.
- Experience with system design, preferably with Rockwell Automation products, solutions, services, and Connected Enterprise messaging.
- Experience in a customer-facing position, business development, or sales role with direct customer interaction.
- Some experience with marketing solutions to customers and with proposal development and customer presentations.
- Prior experience with Rockwell Automation products, solutions, and services.
- Experience with specific Rockwell Automation product lines like PowerFlex Drives and ControlLogix/GuardLogix Controllers.
- Experience with Legacy & 3rd Party Systems (PLC5, Reliance AutoMax, GE, Siemens, etc.).
- An understanding of the proposal process and skills in proposal management.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation proposal development systems (IFS, QuoteBuilder, ProMs).
- Experience with estimation tools for Drive Lineup & Configuration, Engineering & Manufacturing Estimations, or Drive Motor Specification.
- End User & Distributor Customer Relationships within core Drive System Business.
- Pulp, Paper & Tissue Industries experience.
- Understanding of NEC/NFPA and other North American agency standards for electrical drive systems.
