Role Overview
As a Vehicle Test Engineer focused on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), you will play a key role in adapting autonomous driving software to different vehicle types. Your work will center on fine-tuning software behavior, validating functionality, and ensuring seamless integration into real-world vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and optimize ADAS features by adjusting software parameters to meet performance and usability goals
- Deploy and maintain complex software stacks in test vehicles and development environments
- Diagnose system-level issues and collaborate on algorithmic improvements
- Support rollout of software updates across a broad range of vehicle models
- Validate new features against quality benchmarks and functional expectations
- Investigate performance metrics to identify root causes and recommend solutions
- Communicate findings clearly to engineering teams and external partners
- Conduct on-site testing and troubleshooting across European locations
What You Bring
- Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of three years in automotive software, embedded systems, or related fields
- Strong command of C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Experience working in Linux and QNX command-line environments
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle system architecture and component integration
- Proven ability to isolate and resolve technical issues methodically
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, especially with external stakeholders
- Flexibility to adapt work hours and travel as needed
- Regular presence required at development sites in the Sindelfingen or Stuttgart region
- Passion for automotive technology and software-driven innovation
Preferred Background
- Prior experience in ADAS development at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
- Knowledge of autonomous driving or parking algorithms
- Understanding of vehicle communication networks including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
- Valid EU driver’s license and advanced driving capability for prototype vehicles (T2 level preferred)
Work Environment
This role is primarily onsite, with regular presence expected in the Sindelfingen or Stuttgart area. Travel across Europe will be required to support testing and integration activities.
