Abbott is hiring a Staff Database Developer/Architect to apply technical knowledge towards improving the lives of people with diabetes. You will work on a modern SaaS cloud platform serving users in over 49 countries, supporting scalable, highly available, reliable, efficient, and secure cloud solutions for a medical device SaaS.
What You'll Do
- Architect and support a high-performance, highly scalable, flexible, and cost-effective cloud-based data platform.
- Design and plan future architecture to store and manage rapid data growth.
- Architect, design, and implement the cybersecurity of the data platform.
- Identify and solve design and technology issues within the current systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, develop, and integrate with multiple internal and external products and platforms.
- Create software architecture and design documentation for the supported solutions and overall best practices and patterns.
- Stay current with emerging trends, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, other relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with data architecture and design in the cloud.
- Familiar with architecture principles, patterns, framework, and blueprints.
- Familiar with Cybersecurity best practices and solutions for supported architecture.
- Experience with documenting architectural and design decisions.
- Experience with working and supporting multiple development team members.
- Ability to work well with a team in a high-performance organization.
- Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Eagerness to contribute beyond experience level.

- Compensation: $111,300.00 – $222,700.00
