Zip is looking for a Software Engineer to join ZipX, its AI team. You will help define AI-native product experiences in enterprise procurement, shipping high-impact features used by customers from day one. You’ll work in small, high-ownership pods where engineers take complex AI concepts from prototype to production.
What You'll Do
- Design and build highly reliable, production-grade AI products and features — spanning agentic workflows, LLM-powered automation, and intelligent document processing.
- Translate complex AI concepts into intuitive, customer-facing experiences that eliminate manual work and drive smarter procurement decisions.
- Own features end-to-end: from scoping and architecture through to shipping and iterating based on real customer feedback.
- Write high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code that serves as the foundation for Zip's AI-first product strategy.
- Build scalable APIs, backend services, and frontend components that bring AI capabilities seamlessly into Zip's core platform.
What We're Looking For
- BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or math).
- Experience with web application and API development in production environments.
- Experience with industry-standard build, test, and deploy tools.
- Ability and interest to quickly learn new frameworks, architecture patterns, and programming languages as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience working at a small company with diverse responsibilities.
- Experience working with API connections to external systems like Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, etc.
- Exposure to AI-driven automation or interest in working with AI/ML teams to build intelligent workflows.
