About the Role
The engineer will work on building and maintaining data publication systems that transform raw geographic information into usable map products, focusing on scalability, automation, and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pipelines that process map data at scale
- Ensure data consistency and quality across publication workflows
- Collaborate with data and infrastructure teams to optimize data processing
- Design and implement backend services for data transformation
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in production
- Improve reliability and efficiency of data publication processes
- Write clean, maintainable code with automated testing
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Support deployment and operational aspects of data systems
- Work with geospatial data formats and processing frameworks
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data processing workflows
- Contribute to documentation and internal knowledge sharing
- Integrate feedback from data producers and consumers
- Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipelines
- Ensure compliance with data standards and specifications
- Optimize data storage and access patterns
- Support versioning and traceability of map datasets
- Collaborate on incident response and root cause analysis
- Evaluate new technologies for data processing improvements
- Maintain backward compatibility during system upgrades
- Work in an agile development environment
