We’re seeking a skilled Shopify E-Commerce Developer to take full technical responsibility for our expanding online store. This is a part-time, remote position offering flexibility and direct access to the CEO and senior team. You’ll shape the technical direction of the store, going beyond implementation to drive measurable improvements in user experience, speed, and conversion.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all technical aspects of the Shopify store, including theme customization, performance tuning, and responsive implementation of Figma designs
- Develop and maintain custom Shopify apps and plugins using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Translate Figma mockups into functional, conversion-optimized storefronts — and identify design choices that may hinder performance
- Build and manage integrations between Shopify and key tools like Billbee and Klaviyo through clean, reliable APIs
- Use AI-powered coding assistants such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude as a core part of your daily workflow
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the CMO and IT specialist, to align technical execution with business goals
- Continuously monitor and resolve issues related to page speed, mobile usability, and conversion friction
- Evaluate, configure, and troubleshoot third-party Shopify apps to ensure optimal performance
What We Require
- Proven experience building or significantly customizing Shopify stores — a portfolio with live links is mandatory
- Deep knowledge of Liquid, theme architecture, and the Shopify platform ecosystem
- Proficiency in working directly from Figma files to produce clean, maintainable frontend code
- Solid frontend skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience creating or extending Shopify apps, ideally with App Store publication
- Active use of AI tools in your development process — not just familiarity, but daily integration
- Understanding of e-commerce UX principles, including information hierarchy, user flows, and conversion psychology
- Strong attention to visual detail — you notice layout inconsistencies, weak CTAs, and design inefficiencies that others miss
Nice to Have
- Fluency in German, as our store and customer base are German-speaking
- Hands-on experience with Billbee, Klaviyo, or similar e-commerce tools
- Familiarity with Shopify SEO best practices
- Background in headless commerce or Shopify Hydrogen
- Prior work with direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands
Compensation & Work Environment
- Rate: €15–30/hour, based on experience
- Approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
- 100% remote — work from anywhere
- Direct reporting to leadership — no middle layers or agency handoffs
- Full technical ownership of the Shopify platform
- Supportive, AI-forward culture that values experimentation and initiative
- Receive ergonomic office gear — including a standing desk and accessories — from our product line at no cost
