Responsibilities
- Oversee planning and implementation of valve systems across multiple plant operations, managing priorities, timelines, and technical risk mitigation.
- Act as the primary technical expert for safety-critical valve systems, including establishing qualification criteria and integrating with Class 1E electrical systems when required.
- Create and evaluate procurement documents for control, isolation, pressure relief, check, and specialized nuclear-rated valves.
- Conduct and validate valve sizing, actuator torque assessments, and operational performance under steady-state and dynamic conditions.
- Lead technical assessments of suppliers, clarify bid requirements, and ensure pre- and post-contract alignment with nuclear quality standards, regulatory expectations, and current industry practices.
- Resolve interdisciplinary challenges impacting valve functionality, operational readiness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in preparing licensing submissions and verify that valve design choices support regulatory obligations and safety evaluations.
- Guide early-career engineers and review technical outputs such as data sheets, specifications, calculations, and vendor-submitted documentation.
