Role Overview
As a Hardware Integration Engineer, you will lead the setup and validation of vehicle hardware systems used in advanced automotive development. Your work will ensure that sensor suites, onboard computers, and communication interfaces are properly provisioned and tested throughout the build lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end integration of hardware components into vehicle platforms
- Prepare and verify sensors, computing units, and networking hardware for installation
- Perform system-level and vehicle-level validation to confirm functionality and reliability
- Scale provisioning and testing processes to support growing vehicle fleets
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align on integration requirements and timelines
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of two years of hands-on experience with automotive hardware and embedded systems
- Proven background in hardware testing and reliability validation
- Direct experience with autonomous vehicle sensors such as LiDAR, RADAR, and cameras
- Experience developing and executing structured test plans
Preferred
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols including CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as Vector, PCAN View, or PCAN Explorer
- Background in flashing firmware and software updates to ECUs and onboard modules
Work Environment
This role is based in Tokyo and primarily onsite, with team members expected to work from the office five days per week. Flexible scheduling is supported—employees may begin the day remotely, leave early when needed, or work occasionally from home, provided responsibilities are managed effectively.
