Role Overview
As a Senior Deal Desk Analyst, you'll act as a key liaison across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Accounting teams, ensuring deals are structured efficiently and aligned with company policies. Reporting to the Senior Deal Desk Manager, you'll help shape commercial strategies while maintaining compliance and driving operational excellence in a remote-first workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise sales teams on enterprise-level transactions, including complex, multi-year, and non-standard deals, offering strategic guidance on structure and value positioning.
- Act as the escalation point for high-impact deals, providing creative solutions and alternative contract approaches.
- Review order forms for accuracy, pricing integrity, and policy compliance, meeting defined performance benchmarks.
- Manage the sales order approval workflow, refining escalation protocols to enhance clarity and speed.
- Identify recurring exceptions and recommend updates to policies or procedures to improve consistency.
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Finance, Legal, and Support to shape deal terms and influence commercial strategy.
- Lead initiatives to close process gaps and improve cross-functional efficiency.
- Analyze transaction data to report on trends, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to leadership on pricing models and deal governance.
- Develop and deliver training for sales teams on Deal Desk processes, order workflows, and quote-to-cash best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date training materials and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards and operational policies.
- Flag potential risks in new deal types and propose safeguards for emerging go-to-market strategies.
- Mentor junior Deal Desk analysts, supporting their professional growth and process expertise.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in sales, finance, or operations, with at least 3 years focused on Deal Desk or commercial operations.
- Proven experience managing complex software deals from structuring through negotiation, approval, and close—including multi-product, multi-entity, or partner-channel transactions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining a strategic outlook.
- Deep understanding of quote-to-cash and contract lifecycle management processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing stakeholders in a remote environment.
- Collaborative mindset—professional in approach, approachable in execution, and committed to team success.
- Proficient in Salesforce, contract lifecycle management (CLM), and CPQ platforms, with experience building reports or optimizing workflows.
