About the Role
The Lead ETL Developer will oversee the development and implementation of ETL solutions, guide data integration best practices, ensure data accuracy, and support scalable data architectures across enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of ETL workflows for large-scale data systems
- Ensure data integrity, transformation accuracy, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with data architects and analysts to define data requirements
- Implement data validation and error handling procedures
- Monitor ETL job execution and troubleshoot issues
- Document data pipelines and integration processes
- Mentor junior developers and promote technical best practices
- Evaluate and integrate new data sources into existing pipelines
- Support data warehouse structure and schema evolution
- Optimize data extraction from heterogeneous source systems
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs
- Develop reusable ETL components and templates
- Manage version control and deployment of ETL code
- Participate in data modeling and database design discussions
- Use SQL and ETL tools to transform complex datasets
- Support cloud-based data platform initiatives
- Integrate batch and real-time data processing workflows
- Maintain data lineage and metadata documentation
- Contribute to system scalability and reliability improvements
- Stay current with data integration technologies and trends
- Coordinate with DevOps for CI/CD pipeline integration
- Ensure disaster recovery and backup procedures for ETL systems
- Drive automation of manual data processes
- Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance efforts
