Role Overview
As the Junior Software & Operations Engineer, you will serve as the key technical presence on-site at a contract manufacturing facility in Coral Springs, Florida. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that production systems are assembled on schedule, meet technical specifications, and align with service-level expectations. You will act as the main point of contact between the manufacturer and internal engineering, supply chain, and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company on-site, overseeing daily production operations and ensuring adherence to build schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Production Tracker, logging output, milestones, and any deviations.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks that could delay production or impact delivery timelines.
- Configure software on production units, conduct factory acceptance tests, and verify system readiness.
- Remotely provision and test tablet devices, ensuring full integration with the software stack prior to deployment.
- Perform quality control inspections on completed units, identifying defects and coordinating corrective actions with the manufacturer.
- Verify that all systems meet functional, build, and documentation requirements before approval for shipment.
- Manage outgoing shipments of finished systems, replacement parts, and returned components for analysis.
- Monitor inventory levels of critical components and work with the Global Supply & Logistics Manager to prevent disruptions.
- Communicate engineering updates, design changes, and procedural adjustments to manufacturing staff.
- Provide structured feedback to internal teams on recurring issues, manufacturability challenges, and opportunities for product improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in software development for robotics, embedded systems, or electronics.
- Proficiency in Python and shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, particularly Ubuntu-based environments.
- Familiarity with remote access tools such as SSH and VNC.
- Basic networking knowledge, including troubleshooting connectivity, configuring network devices, and resolving common VPN issues.
- Experience in quality assurance or testing of electronic hardware.
- Understanding of production workflows, work orders, and scheduling processes.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Experience in logistics, shipment coordination, or inventory tracking.
- Direct experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or factory environment.
- Proven ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with remote teams.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP platforms.
Technology Environment
Python, shell scripting, Linux (Ubuntu), SSH, VNC, networking protocols, and VPN configurations.
