Velera is looking for a Intern - Data Engineer to join our 10-week summer program. This remote role offers real job experience in the financial industry, focusing on reporting and supporting our Databricks ETL framework.
What You'll Do
- Attend scheduled Agile team meetings.
- Research topics such as Databricks features and limitations.
- Read and update Wiki pages.
- View, analyze, and report on Databricks jobs and code.
- Work on project tasks including pipeline ETL measuring, performance analysis, and improved documentation.
- Validate and improve Metapedia entries.
- Assist with discovery and improvements for AI/ML initiatives within Databricks.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of your sophomore or junior year in an accredited undergraduate degree program.
- A 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher at the time of application.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to adjust easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, with a heavy emphasis on Excel.
- Proficiency in software that applies to your major and the function of this internship.
- A passion for learning about the Credit Union Industry.
