As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you'll play a central role in developing and evolving Mia, an AI assistant designed to streamline operations for healthcare providers. Your work will span from frontend interfaces to high-performance backend services, ensuring seamless, reliable interactions via voice, SMS, and chat.
What You’ll Do
- Develop responsive user experiences using NextJS and TypeScript, while building and maintaining secure, efficient APIs with Python and FastAPI
- Design backend systems that handle high-throughput traffic with low latency, ensuring scalability and resilience
- Implement and manage data storage and pipelines using PostgreSQL, Redis, and S3, with strict adherence to HIPAA and SOC-2 requirements
- Integrate with clinical systems through FHIR, HL7, and custom APIs, enabling smooth data exchange across platforms
- Write infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Helm, and manage deployments on Kubernetes across cloud environments
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks and monitoring systems to ensure code quality and system health
- Lead CI/CD initiatives to enable frequent, reliable production releases
- Collaborate with compliance and product teams to bake security, encryption, and auditability into every layer of development
- Review code to uphold standards in performance, clarity, and safety, and guide junior engineers as the team expands
- Document architectural decisions and share insights to foster team-wide learning
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has 4+ years of experience shipping full-stack applications in production environments
- Is fluent in TypeScript (with React/NextJS) and Python, and comfortable working across client and server
- Uses AI tools effectively to accelerate development, from prototyping to debugging
- Automates repetitive tasks, writes clean and maintainable code, and values documentation
- Understands relational databases, REST design principles, and query optimization
- Has hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized systems (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Is skilled in testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows
- Communicates clearly and takes initiative to solve problems quickly
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with healthcare data standards like FHIR or HL7, or other regulated domains
- Background in working with LLMs, RAG pipelines, agent design, or voice-based systems
- Familiarity with event-driven or real-time data architectures
- Startup experience where you shaped product direction and operated with autonomy
