Responsibilities
- Create fire alarm system designs for assigned projects.
- Lead design efforts on large, multi-component initiatives.
- Supervise and guide CAD team members in design execution.
- Manage personal project timelines and task prioritization.
- Assist in assigning and overseeing tasks for junior design staff.
- Collaborate with other design groups as project needs arise.
- Conduct design reviews for medium-complexity systems to ensure compliance and cost-effective solutions.
- Work with CAD technicians to produce detailed technical submissions, including schematics and drawings.
- Oversee the preparation of project documentation for medium-complexity systems, including operational details and calculations.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations to confirm designs meet applicable codes and standards.
- Take part in project planning and follow-up design meetings.
- Attend coordination meetings with clients or site representatives when necessary.
- Generate accurate bills of materials to support construction teams.
- Review final submissions with CAD technicians to verify equipment suitability, compatibility, and adherence to specifications.
- Support project managers post-award to help maintain or enhance project profitability.
