Role Overview
As the Director of End-to-End SAP S/4HANA Solution Architecture, you will drive the design and execution of a comprehensive enterprise transformation centered on SAP S/4HANA. This role is central to shaping the future technology landscape for a multi-brand omnichannel retail organization, ensuring seamless integration between core SAP modules, specialized retail platforms, and cloud-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the end-to-end solution architecture for the Retail Spine program, covering SAP S/4HANA modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, Retail, TM, CAR), integration layers, data platforms, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Define architectural standards for system integration, data flow, security, scalability, and resilience, balancing SAP embedded capabilities with external best-of-breed solutions such as Manhattan WMS, Relex, and omnichannel platforms.
- Lead technology evaluation and selection processes, including vendor assessments, proof-of-concept initiatives, and build-versus-buy analyses, providing clear technical recommendations to executive stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with long-term strategic goals, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Design integration strategies between SAP and critical systems including warehouse management, demand planning, point-of-sale, and eCommerce platforms using API-led, event-driven, and hub-and-spoke patterns.
- Establish and enforce architecture governance through review boards, milestone reviews, and decision tracking, ensuring adherence to clean-core principles and sustainable extensibility on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Create and maintain architecture artifacts such as future-state blueprints, interface designs, architecture decision records (ADRs), and operational runbooks to support implementation and operations.
- Lead a team of domain architects across Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Store Operations, fostering technical excellence, career development, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Guide solution design across the full lifecycle—from strategy and design to deployment and stabilization—ensuring architectural integrity during multi-wave rollouts across brands and regions.
- Champion innovation by evaluating emerging technologies including AI/ML, IoT, and advanced analytics within the SAP and retail ecosystem, conducting structured experimentation to validate business impact.
- Partner with SAP, cloud providers, system integrators, and key vendors to maintain roadmap alignment and ensure long-term platform sustainability.
- Communicate technical direction to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating business objectives into actionable technology roadmaps and investment cases.
