TensorWave is hiring a Data Center Design Engineer

About the Role

TensorWave, a company focused on AI compute and cloud platform innovation, is looking for a Data Center Design Engineer. You will lead the technical design and planning of high-performance, mission-critical data center infrastructure. Your work will develop end-to-end design solutions for reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency, coordinating architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural elements from concept through construction.

What You'll Do

  • Develop data center layout and infrastructure designs, including electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.
  • Produce and review design documents such as floor plans, equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external design consultants to manage multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, Uptime, TIA-942), and company design guidelines.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and capacity planning analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering efforts, and construction oversight to ensure design intent is met.
  • Support continuous improvement of data center design templates and standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering design.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mission-critical/data center projects.
  • Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure systems including power distribution, cooling, and space planning.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards such as NEC, ASHRAE, Uptime Tier, and local building codes.
  • Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
