Role Overview
This position supports diagnostic imaging systems in the Orlando, FL area, focusing on CT, MR, and MI technologies. The engineer operates independently to install, maintain, and repair complex medical equipment, ensuring reliable performance and minimal downtime for healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on diagnostic imaging systems at customer sites
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, minimizing equipment downtime
- Train clinical staff on proper system operation and maintenance procedures
- Manage field service tools and test equipment, ensuring timely calibration and documentation
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and equipment status
- Oversee company assets such as vehicles, diagnostic tools, and spare parts inventory
- Support financial goals by managing expenses, revenue, and inventory levels in the assigned territory
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
- Complete administrative tasks with attention to detail and compliance
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in medical equipment service or biomedical engineering
- Proficiency with technical documentation, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel independently
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, climbing, and extended standing
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, service management platforms, and network applications
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions in the field
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical associate degree or equivalent technical certification
Work Environment
This is a local field-based role based in Orlando, FL, with a work schedule from 2 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday. Engineers must be prepared to travel within their territory and respond to service needs during assigned hours.
Technical Tools
Engineers use eVO, mButler, Concur, and internal customer service platforms to manage service requests, documentation, and reporting.
