About the Role
This role involves conducting pharmacoeconomic analyses and health economics research to inform pharmacy policy, pricing strategies, and clinical program development using data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Analyze pharmaceutical cost trends and utilization patterns across patient populations
- Develop health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) studies to assess treatment value
- Evaluate clinical and economic impacts of new and existing medications
- Support pharmacy benefit design through evidence-based recommendations
- Interpret real-world data to measure drug effectiveness and safety
- Collaborate with data science teams to build predictive models
- Present findings to clinical and business stakeholders
- Assist in developing formulary positioning strategies
- Monitor regulatory and industry changes affecting drug pricing and access
- Conduct budget impact analyses for emerging therapies
- Translate research results into actionable business insights
- Ensure compliance with internal research standards and protocols
- Work with cross-functional teams on value-based contracting initiatives
- Assess comparative effectiveness of therapeutic alternatives
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacoeconomic methodologies
- Support grant-funded research projects when applicable
- Use data visualization tools to communicate complex findings
- Participate in internal audit and quality review processes
- Contribute to white papers and internal publications
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in analytics workflows
- Stay current with trends in managed care pharmacy and reimbursement models
- Evaluate impact of specialty drug launches on plan performance
- Assist in developing pharmacy performance metrics
- Support responses to executive-level data inquiries
- Collaborate on health policy assessments related to pharmacy benefits
