Atimi is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer for a fully remote position within Canada. You will be a proactive contributor within project teams, helping to guide development through the entire lifecycle while ensuring high standards for code quality, architecture, and DevOps practices.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate proactively within the project team to guide the product through the entire development lifecycle.
- Ensure code quality and governance, and that engineers follow established patterns and designs.
- Plan, estimate, and contribute to architecture, coding, and development.
- Refactor and continuously improve the codebases.
- Communicate technical decisions thoroughly to the global team.
- Take responsibility for releases and contribute to the ongoing support of live applications.
- Get involved with deployment and operation of software (DevOps).
- Deliver fair outcomes for customers and maintain a high level of professional conduct.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of strong Java development experience.
- 2+ years of experience with data cleansing and extraction for ETL processes.
- 2+ years of experience with Amazon Redshift.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS Step Functions and Lambda.
- 4+ years of experience with the AWS cloud environment.
- 3+ years of experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience using and/or configuring CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience building scalable software services (e.g., serverless, microservices).
- Strong Object-Oriented Design skills and knowledge of design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders to define and refine requirements.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
Nice to Have
- Python experience.
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
