Moog is looking for an Associate Design Engineer to join our team in the development of next-generation hydraulic and electromechanical control systems for military aircraft. In this role, you will be a key technical contributor on projects that include system architecture creation, performance prediction, analysis, and verification planning.
What You'll Do
- Contribute as a key technical member on a team to develop, integrate, and verify complex hydraulic and electromechanical control systems.
- Coordinate and participate in design product discussions across other development teams and Moog sites.
- Create and communicate design requirements.
- Support the identification and definition of Verification and Validation approaches for the system or subsystem.
- Develop verification plans and verification cross reference matrices for high performance control systems.
- Develop test plans and procedures in support of requirements verification and system qualification.
- Drive successful real-time system model integration to support a variety of test environments at both system and unit level.
- Create test scripts to support automated testing of systems.
- Create concise reports to document test results, requirement verification, limitations and constraints.
- Support system- and subsystem-level integration and test, including any anomaly investigations.
- Travel 5-15% to other Moog sites and customer sites, primarily within the US.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Internship or hands-on experience in design/development engineering, creating designs of electromechanical and mechanical components.
- Mechanical knowledge in a hands-on environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Broad background in design analysis, including stress analysis, kinematics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and vibration.
- Experience with closed loop systems, servomechanisms, fracture mechanics and Computer Aided Design.
- Experience with Siemens NX software.
- Knowledge of aircraft flight control systems.
