P2P.org is seeking a Staff SRE to take ownership of the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of our high-performance Solana validator infrastructure. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, performance engineering, and blockchain protocol operations.
What You'll Do
- Implement and continuously improve validation, monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks to ensure reliability, observability, and audit readiness.
- Analyze, design, and optimize network and infrastructure topologies to meet strict performance, availability, and security requirements.
- Deploy, maintain, and tune validation nodes for Solana and other major PoS networks.
- Develop automation through scripts, playbooks, and CI/CD integrations to eliminate manual operations and improve deployment velocity.
- Design cloud-agnostic Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform to deliver repeatability, resilience, and scale.
- Apply and enforce security, compliance, and SOC 2 controls across all infrastructure and operational workflows.
- Optimize validator timing and block production to improve APY and overall performance.
- Partner with data engineering to track and improve key service-level objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in Linux systems, performance tuning, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong hands-on experience with configuration management using tools like Ansible.
- Proficiency with Docker and practical experience with IaC and orchestration (Terraform preferred).
- Proven experience running Solana validator or RPC infrastructure, including performance optimization, monitoring, and secure key management.
- Experience operating in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (GCP preferred; AWS or on-prem a plus).
- Solid understanding of cryptography, secure key management, and validator-relevant security principles.
- Strong programming ability in at least one modern language (Go, Rust, or Python).
- Ability to read, debug, and review code to ensure safe, resilient integrations.
