Kong is looking for a Staff Solutions Engineer to support our field sales team throughout the entire customer lifecycle. In this role, you will help customers understand the value of the Kong API and Connectivity Management platform, from initial review through to production deployment.
What You'll Do
- Support field sales in demonstrating the value of the Kong platform to customers.
- Understand customer requirements and build trusted client relationships from product review to production.
- Support proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements throughout the full evaluation process.
- Ensure 100% customer satisfaction across your assigned accounts.
- Prioritize customer needs and coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams.
- Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements.
- Support marketing initiatives by creating blogs, webinars, and participating in trade shows and field events.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of software engineer and/or sales engineer management experience at a SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise Software company.
- A solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models.
- You are a strong listener and communicator.
- You can confidently lead discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives.
- Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes and other cloud native platforms.
- Experience with APIs, CI/CD automation frameworks, and AI and LLM technologies.
