About the Role
The individual will own and evolve the infrastructure supporting the design system, enabling designers and developers to work more efficiently and consistently across products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal tools that support design system components and documentation
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to identify gaps in design system adoption
- Improve workflows between design and engineering teams using automation and tooling
- Own the architecture and performance of design system infrastructure
- Ensure design tokens and component libraries are synchronized across platforms
- Advocate for best practices in accessibility, responsiveness, and maintainability
- Diagnose and resolve cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility issues
- Optimize developer experience when using design system assets
- Maintain versioning and release processes for design system packages
- Integrate design system tooling into CI/CD pipelines
- Gather feedback from internal stakeholders to prioritize improvements
- Document technical decisions and system architecture clearly
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies that enhance design system capabilities
- Support onboarding of new teams to the design system
- Monitor usage metrics and identify areas for optimization
- Ensure compliance with security and code quality standards
- Collaborate on design token management and theming capabilities
- Build prototypes to validate new component patterns
- Drive consistency in UI implementation across product surfaces
- Work closely with platform teams to align on technical direction
