Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors was looking for a Staff Accountant (Remote - US)

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Staff Accountant to play a critical role in supporting our core accounting operations. You will work within a dynamic, fast-growing team, focusing on operating expenses and accounts payable to ensure accurate financial records and efficient processes.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review journal entries related to operating expenses.
  • Maintain schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
  • Support month-end and year-end close, as well as ad-hoc reporting projects.
  • Reconcile interdepartmental accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain cost trackers and detailed records of operating expenses.
  • Categorize bank transactions and perform cash account reconciliations.
  • Manage vendor reconciliations and maintain vendor schedules using Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Ensure timely receipt and processing of vendor invoices and manage AP-related inquiries.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Bill.com.
  • Strong Excel and Google Suite skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent time management, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative spirit and a passion for operational excellence.

Nice to Have

  • Accounting experience ideally in manufacturing or retail.
  • eCommerce or CPG startup experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a bonus.
