Hopper is seeking a Senior Front-end/Full-Stack Engineer to join the HTS Stays & Packages team. You will focus on building and scaling booking flows, search experiences, checkout journeys, and platform capabilities for hotel, alternative stays, and bundled travel packages across multiple partner portals. This is a 100% remote position for candidates based in the USA.
What You'll Do
- Work with top-tier engineers in a low-process environment powered by trust and autonomy.
- Drive decisions and consensus asynchronously with thoughtful documentation.
- Build new features from top to bottom, from UX to database.
- Architect scalable front-end solutions to efficiently launch new portals.
- Work directly with PMs and business partners to help define and refine the roadmap.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with a diverse group of people, giving and receiving feedback.
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in React with modern compiler-driven patterns (functional components, hooks, performance optimizations, server-side rendering, hydration, advanced state management).
- Proficiency in TypeScript with experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale applications.
- Advanced CSS knowledge (Tailwind, SCSS, CSS-in-JS, animations, handling browser quirks).
- Familiarity with contemporary frontend tooling (e.g., React Query/TanStack ecosystem, Tailwind or design-token-based styling, modern build tools like Vite).
- Solid frontend architecture fundamentals: performance, accessibility, responsive design, testing, and maintainability.
- Experience optimizing frontend performance (lazy loading, code-splitting, caching strategies, Lighthouse optimizations).
- Experience working on complex product flows such as e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or fintech applications.
- Ability to balance shipping product features with long-term platform thinking in multi-brand or white-label environments.
- A passion for writing testable code knowing what to test, what not to test, and what kinds of tests matter in front-end applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in monorepos (e.g., Turbo, Nx, pnpm workspaces).
- Familiarity with SSR and static site generation (e.g., Next.js) for SEO-friendly experiences.
