Spotted Zebra is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own manual and automated testing within our product delivery pipeline. You will be responsible for creating test plans, troubleshooting integrations, and collaborating across teams to ensure high-quality releases. This role is remote-first, based in Chandigarh, India.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of manual and automated QA testing to free up squad time.
- Perform hands-on manual testing (70% of work) and build/maintain automation tests (30% of work).
- Create, maintain, and execute regression test plans and test cases.
- Validate and troubleshoot system integrations, collaborating with product and engineering teams.
- Review and interpret logs to help with debugging.
- Proactively track, document, and manage issues using Jira.
- Support two cross-functional squads while collaborating across the wider team.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in manual and automated QA testing.
- Experience with Playwright for automation testing.
- Experience working in Node.js and TypeScript environments.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for running queries for validation/debugging.
- Basic experience with GraphQL and API testing tools like Postman.
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret logs.
- Understanding of bi-directional integrations and system interactions.
- Experience using Jira for issue tracking and test management.
- Hands-on experience creating and executing regression test plans and test cases.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, driven, and resourceful, with initiative to improve QA processes.
- Ability to prioritise effectively when raising issues.
- Good judgment around what issues to raise, how to raise them, and when.
- Collaborative mindset, enjoying supporting others in a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written).
Nice to Have
- Experience testing integrations across complex systems.
- QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB) or equivalent.
- Background in HR Tech or testing AI-enabled products.
- Basic understanding of ATS platforms such as Workday.
