Europe Remote (Global)

n8n is hiring a Sr Cloud Engineer | NodeJS + TS/JS | Europe remote

About the Role

Shape the foundation of a rapidly scaling cloud platform as a Senior Cloud Engineer. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining resilient, high-performance infrastructure that supports growing user demand across Node.js and cloud-native environments. Your work will directly influence system reliability, security, and developer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure with a focus on availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Optimize performance and reliability through automation, observability, and proactive monitoring solutions.
  • Lead improvements in security posture and system resilience, addressing critical issues and long-term stability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support cross-functional initiatives and platform-wide projects.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system health and rapid incident response.
  • Guide technical direction by contributing to architectural decisions, tool selection, and platform evolution.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering with a track record of scaling complex systems.
  • Hands-on development experience using Node.js and TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Strong command of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with major cloud providers—AWS, GCP, or Azure—with architectural and operational expertise.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization at scale.
  • A self-driven mindset: eager to learn, solve hard problems, and take ownership of critical systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Leadership in technical environments, with a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Background in distributed systems, cloud-native design, and security best practices.
  • Experience in fast-moving startups or small, high-trust engineering teams.
  • Azure platform experience is a plus.

Work Environment & Benefits

  • Remote-first culture with team members across Europe and the US, supported by periodic off-sites.
  • Generous time-off policies: 30 days vacation in Europe, 20 vacation + 8 sick days in the US, plus public holidays.
  • Health, dental, vision, retirement, and insurance benefits aligned with local standards in both regions.
  • Annual €1,000 learning budget for courses, books, coaching, or events.
  • Monthly stipend to support open-source contributions.
  • Unlimited access to AI tools to enhance productivity and creativity.
  • Equity in the company and competitive compensation package.
  • A culture of transparency, autonomy, and innovation—where ambitious ideas are met with kindness and support.

Our Culture

We value builders who take initiative, think independently, and challenge conventions. You’ll thrive here if you embrace ownership, operate with integrity, and care deeply about the product and its impact. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable environment where everyone can contribute and grow.
