As a Solar Plant Remote Monitoring Engineer & Analytics, you will play a key role in maintaining the performance and reliability of solar photovoltaic installations. Based in Hyderabad, you will work across multiple sites, using SCADA systems and remote monitoring platforms to observe real-time operational data and detect anomalies affecting energy output.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor solar plant performance to detect deviations in energy generation, inverter behavior, or communication failures.
- Conduct initial fault assessments and escalate critical issues to on-site maintenance teams or equipment manufacturers as needed.
- Analyze trends in performance metrics such as Plant Load Factor (PLF), Performance Ratio (PR), and Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) to identify root causes of inefficiencies.
- Generate and validate periodic performance reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of operational data.
- Track and manage downtime events using monitoring ticketing systems, ensuring resolution and documentation.
- Support automation and analytics improvements using Power BI, Python, or Excel to enhance reporting efficiency and insight generation.
- Maintain detailed shift logs to ensure continuity during handovers and adherence to operational procedures.
- Follow established SOPs and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines to maintain a compliant and secure work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Hold a B.E. or B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a closely related field.
- Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in solar plant monitoring, operations and maintenance analytics, or performance evaluation.
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of solar PV components, including inverters, transformers, SCADA interfaces, and string-level monitoring systems.
- Show strong analytical ability with hands-on experience in Power BI, MS Excel, or Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Communicate effectively with field teams and external vendors to coordinate issue resolution.
- Be prepared to work in rotational shifts, covering morning, evening, and night hours as required.
