Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core components of the payment processing system
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate payment solutions
- Ensure high availability and performance of payment services
- Implement security best practices to protect financial transactions
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions
- Optimize payment workflows for efficiency and user experience
- Support compliance with financial industry standards and regulations
- Monitor system metrics and respond to alerts
- Contribute to incident response and post-mortem analyses
- Work with third-party payment providers and APIs
- Improve logging and observability across payment services
- Drive automation in testing and deployment pipelines
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Stay current with evolving payment technologies and security threats
- Evaluate new tools and frameworks for potential adoption
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
- Collaborate with product and security teams to define requirements
- Support audit processes and internal reviews
- Help define scalability strategies for growing transaction volume
- Implement fraud detection and prevention mechanisms
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning for critical systems
