Ball Corporation is hiring a Senior Tax Analyst to serve as a technical specialist covering complex aspects of tax and finance. This multi-faceted role involves managing UK corporation tax compliance, supporting international tax obligations, and providing technical insight to optimize the UK group's tax position. You will work cross-functionally, building relationships and influencing at all levels across the business.

What You'll Do

  • Holistically manage the UK corporation tax compliance process from start to submission.
  • Draft UK tax computations from the SAP trial balance and undertake detailed expenditure analysis.
  • Analyze significant capital expenditure to optimize the UK sub-group’s capital allowance claims.
  • Provide strategic and technical insight to optimize the UK group tax position regarding corporate interest restriction and group relief.
  • Work with the regional finance team to prepare current and deferred tax provisions for all UK GAAP statutory accounts and engage with the group’s auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end and quarterly US GAAP group reporting for the UK sub-group, including detailed supporting calculations.
  • Assist with the global coordination efforts for Country by Country (CBCR) reporting.
  • Help prepare certain transfer pricing documentation, including the Group’s OECD Master File and UK/European Local Files.
  • Provide support to ensure the Group meets its new BEPS Pillar 2 filing obligations.
  • Review and complete certain UK sub-group VAT returns, including those under a bespoke partial exemption agreement with HMRC.
  • Deal with ad-hoc VAT queries and liaise with HMRC as required.
  • Provide support for cash repatriation, intercompany debt, entity rationalization, and other value-added planning projects.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 5 or more years of post-qualified, varied experience working on large multinational corporate tax matters, preferably in-house.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of UK corporation tax as it applies to large groups of companies.
  • UK GAAP tax reporting experience.
  • Strong capability in producing well-researched tax technical briefing papers and making associated recommendations.
  • Expertise with Excel and strong, adaptable IT skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Nice to Have

  • Qualified accountant status, with an ATT/CTA qualification being desirable.
  • US GAAP tax reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of VAT, including VAT reports within SAP, or willingness to develop in this and other indirect tax areas.
  • Some knowledge of BEPS Pillar 2 with a view to taking on responsibilities for Ball’s global filing obligations.
  • Experience with SAP, HFM, or Alphatax.
  • Some experience, or willingness to develop, in complex tax planning areas like reorganizations, eliminations, or distributions.
