Shape the future of cloud development by engineering a high-performance local cloud environment. You'll play a key role in refining a widely adopted platform that allows developers to build, test, and debug cloud applications without relying on remote infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Design and evolve core components in Python to improve emulation accuracy for AWS services
- Optimize performance and reliability of cloud resource provisioning in containerized environments
- Collaborate with engineers to streamline testing workflows for cloud-native applications and data systems
- Advance a platform trusted by both enterprise teams and independent developers
- Contribute to an open-source project with extensive community adoption and commercial deployment
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience developing production-grade tools in Python
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture patterns
- Hands-on work with Docker and local execution environments
- Background in building developer-focused infrastructure or tooling
- Ability to thrive in an asynchronous, globally remote team setting
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud simulation frameworks or local development platforms
- Contributions to open-source projects, especially in the cloud or devops space
- Familiarity with testing strategies for distributed cloud systems
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
- Passion for improving developer workflows and reducing feedback cycles
Environment & Culture
The team values technical excellence, transparency, and community engagement. Work happens across time zones with flexibility at the core. You'll join a mission-driven group focused on sustainable innovation in cloud tooling, supporting a vibrant ecosystem of users and contributors.
Technology stack includes Python, AWS, Docker, CloudFormation, Terraform, and GitHub. The platform runs in containerized environments and supports modern cloud development practices at scale.
