About the Role
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and event-driven architectures that support millions of users and real-time event processing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of high-throughput event processing systems
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define event platform requirements
- Optimize data pipelines for low latency and high availability
- Mentor engineers in best practices for distributed systems and event architecture
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in complex, large-scale environments
- Implement monitoring and alerting for critical event workflows
- Ensure system reliability during peak traffic events
- Drive adoption of event-driven patterns across engineering teams
- Participate in code reviews and architectural design discussions
- Improve system observability and debugging capabilities
- Work closely with data teams to enable real-time analytics
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies for event processing
- Support incident response and post-mortem analysis
- Contribute to disaster recovery and failover strategies
- Maintain documentation for event platform components
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in e-commerce or ticketing platforms
- Background in real-time data processing at scale
- Contributions to open-source eventing projects
- Leadership experience in technical mentorship
