Chainguard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Delivery Team. You will spearhead the development of Wolfi Linux packages and Chainguard container images, guiding technical decisions, mentoring team members, and upholding rigorous quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Develop melange packages within the Wolfi ecosystem and private repositories.
- Produce Chainguard container images for public and private use.
- Create comprehensive automated tests for quality assurance.
- Efficiently work through a prioritized queue of image requests.
- Provide code reviews, technical support, and guidance to team members.
What We're Looking For
- At least 4 years of relevant technical experience.
- Strong experience working with Linux, including packaging (APK, RPM).
- Extensive experience building and debugging container images.
- Strong experience working with Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform.
- Strong programming experience in Go and at least one other language.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, able to work independently.
- Some experience with AI/LLM integration and familiarity with prompt engineering, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Passionate about quality and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Active involvement in the open-source community.
- Experience with vulnerability management and remediation.
