Drive quality and reliability excellence in advanced PCBA manufacturing as a Senior SMTA Engineer, based in Guadalajara, Mexico. You will lead the implementation of process standards across the EMS and ODM supply chain, ensuring consistent performance from design through mass production for consumer, automotive, and enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier engagement to establish, monitor, and refine SMT processes, improving yield, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Define and enforce Critical to Quality (CtQ) controls and assess manufacturing capability through CpK analysis.
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers during new product development to conduct DFx reviews and process characterization.
- Provide actionable feedback to internal design teams to enhance PCBA design robustness and assembly efficiency.
- Track and analyze SMT process KPIs across NPI and production builds, driving corrective actions to meet six sigma quality targets.
- Support the adoption of new materials and advanced technologies at manufacturing sites.
- Review and improve assembly and system-level manufacturing practices to elevate product quality and long-term reliability.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry, with at least eight years of hands-on experience in PCBA materials and SMT assembly processes. Expertise in high-speed signal designs, signal integrity, and complex board technologies is essential. Strong communication skills, fluency in English, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams with minimal oversight are required. Experience in supplier management and a proven ability to build trusted technical relationships are highly valued.
