Lead the design of meaningful, accessible services by shaping user-centred solutions from concept through delivery. As a Senior Service Designer, you'll take ownership of complex service challenges, translating user needs into clear, effective experiences across both public and private sectors.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct user research, map journeys, and develop service blueprints that reflect real-world needs
- Design end-to-end services using the GDS/GOV.UK standards, ensuring accessibility and simplicity
- Translate complex problems into clear visual and narrative concepts for diverse audiences
- Lead workshops and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to co-create solutions
- Mentor junior designers, contribute to team development, and support performance reviews
- Champion user-centred practices across internal communities and client engagements
- Support bids, hiring, and training initiatives alongside design leadership
What We’re Looking For
- Proven ability to communicate abstract design ideas clearly to varied stakeholders
- Experience interpreting user research and turning insights into actionable design
- Comfort working in agile environments and iterating through prototypes of varying fidelity
- Understanding of how technical constraints influence service design decisions
- Active experience with government design standards and public sector delivery
