In this role, you'll define how user intent is understood and translated into relevant results, using machine learning to continuously improve precision and recall across high-traffic retail environments.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and drive the roadmap for search quality, focusing on query understanding, ranking accuracy, and explainability.
- Design evaluation frameworks and tools to measure performance, identify gaps, and validate improvements.
- Work closely with machine learning, data science, and engineering teams to build and refine models for tokenization, spelling correction, synonym handling, and ranking.
- Analyze real-world search behavior to uncover patterns, diagnose issues, and implement scalable solutions.
- Assess competitive search performance and set benchmarks to guide long-term innovation.
- Balancing real-time and batch ML systems, ensuring models deliver speed and accuracy at scale.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a product manager in search, NLP, or machine learning-driven products.
- Solid grasp of the full search pipeline—from query parsing to result ranking.
- Experience with LLMs, synonym systems, spelling correction, or search evaluation frameworks.
- Comfort working with production ML models and understanding tradeoffs in latency, accuracy, and maintainability.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams and communicate complex concepts clearly.
