Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end features
- Ship user-facing features across the stack (backend, frontend, UI/UX) that are reliable, scalable, and delightful.
- Create developer tooling and creator dashboards for community node authors.
- Implement marketplace capabilities such as search, discovery, verification, and payments.
- Elevate engineering quality and reliability
- Drive down recurring bugs and increase unit, integration, and e2e test coverage.
- Improve system resilience through better error handling, observability, and performance.
- Proactively identify and address quality hotspots across the nodes codebase.
- Shape nodes infrastructure & technical strategy
- Contribute to architecture decisions and patterns that scale across Core and Ecosystem teams.
- Introduce standards for APIs, data models, and service boundaries that keep velocity high.
- Partner with PMs and designers to balance speed, quality, and impact in a pragmatic way.
- Coach, collaborate, and level up the team
- Share best practices, mentor teammates and uplift engineering craftsmanship.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver meaningful user value.
- Champion knowledge sharing within the team and the broader community.
Requirements
- Full-stack expertise (TypeScript/Node/Vue): You have strong proficiency building across backend and frontend to deliver end-to-end features.
- Familiar with n8n: You’ve built or tested workflows and understand how our nodes work.
- SaaS Product delivery: You’ve worked as an in-house developer, shipping features that solve real user problems, you are driven by user impact and understand trade-offs.
- Experience building scalable backend architecture: You understand APIs, data modeling, and patterns that keep systems reliable as they grow.
- Pragmatic prioritization: You balance speed, quality, and impact to move the needle where it matters most.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams: You work closely with PMs, designers, and stakeholders to align on outcomes and ship.
- Hands-on testing & quality practices: You write and maintain unit, integration, and e2e tests (e.g., Jest, Playwright) and bake quality into your workflow.
- Clear communication: You explain technical decisions and trade-offs simply and transparently.
- Developing with user empathy: You understand developer needs and end-user workflows, and can build for both n8n users and for n8n community developers.
