About the Role
Lead the technical revenue accounting function with a focus on precision, compliance, and strategic guidance. Support external audits, system integrations, and cross-functional initiatives related to revenue recognition.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and execution of technical accounting policies for revenue
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for revenue accounting
- Collaborate with revenue operations and sales teams to interpret contract terms
- Guide implementation of new systems or upgrades impacting revenue accounting
- Serve as primary contact for auditors on revenue-related matters
- Develop and maintain documentation for revenue recognition methodologies
- Identify and resolve complex revenue accounting issues
- Partner with legal and contracting teams to assess revenue implications of deal structures
- Provide technical guidance during mergers, acquisitions, or integrations
- Lead process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Mentor and develop junior accounting professionals
- Drive automation initiatives within the revenue accounting function
- Support external and internal audit requests
- Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards or regulations
- Prepare disclosures for financial statements related to revenue
- Work with cross-functional teams during system implementations
- Ensure controls and compliance frameworks are maintained
- Oversee revenue-related training for internal stakeholders
- Manage timelines and deliverables during financial reporting cycles
- Analyze contract modifications and renewals for proper accounting treatment
- Maintain strong internal controls over revenue processes
- Support SOX compliance efforts
- Communicate complex technical issues to non-accounting stakeholders
- Stay current with evolving accounting standards and industry practices
