Lead and refine accounting operations for a growing remote organization, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all reporting activities. This role is central to maintaining strong financial controls, guiding the accounting team, and delivering reliable financial data across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting functions, including general ledger oversight, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Guide and develop accounting staff through training, performance reviews, and ongoing support.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS, ensuring proper standards adherence.
- Lead both month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Perform CECL and ASC 842 calculations independently, with thorough documentation and implementation.
- Oversee sales tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, aligning with state and industry-specific regulations.
- Strengthen internal controls by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
- Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and consistent financial reporting.
- Support external audits and regulatory filings with accurate, well-organized documentation.
- Monitor financial trends and transactions to detect anomalies, mitigate risk, and prevent fraud.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced education such as a Master’s in Accounting or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in accounting or financial management, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Direct experience in a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) or Global Systems Integrator (GSI) environment is required.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP or IFRS, including hands-on experience with CECL and ASC 842 calculations.
- Familiarity with state and industry-specific sales tax requirements.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite or comparable accounting platforms.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data, generate reports, and lead process optimization initiatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to proactively identify financial risks and implement corrective measures.

Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a base salary between $150,000 and $170,000, with additional opportunities for bonus and commission.
