Senior Legal Counsel, EU Employment Law (Platform Workers)
Role Overview
This position is central to navigating complex employment law issues arising in the platform economy. The successful candidate will lead efforts to assess and mitigate risks related to worker classification, particularly concerning delivery riders, across global markets. They will serve as a key legal advisor on employment matters, supporting a rapidly evolving operational model and contributing to long-term strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of global platform worker classification matters, coordinating with in-house and external employment law experts across jurisdictions.
- Oversee high-impact litigation and regulatory inquiries, helping design legal strategies in collaboration with local counsel.
- Work closely with Product, Technology, and Operations teams to understand platform mechanics and support the development of compliant, forward-looking delivery solutions.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal implications of emerging business models involving platform-based work.
- Monitor changes in labor legislation and regulatory trends affecting gig work, and provide actionable insights to policy teams at both headquarters and local levels.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and cross-functional groups, offering expert interpretation on employment law developments, with occasional travel required (up to 10%).
