About the Role
You will collaborate with exploration and engineering teams to develop robust, scalable infrastructure that accelerates the translation of data and machine learning models into actionable insights for mineral discovery. Your work will enhance system observability, simplify MLOps processes, and maintain shared platforms like JupyterHub to support rapid experimentation and cross-functional collaboration, enabling scientists and engineers to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure management.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and manage scalable and dependable computing systems that support essential services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate observability, reliability, and security into software development workflows.
- Build and sustain automated systems for monitoring, deployment, and incident response to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
- Lead or assist in capacity planning, performance analysis, and system optimization to maintain high-performing infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call duties, including incident response, root cause analysis, and system recovery.
- Develop and refine monitoring and alerting systems to detect problems early and minimize service disruptions.
- Implement and uphold disaster recovery and business continuity protocols to safeguard operations against system failures.
- Continuously assess and enhance tools and operational processes to improve system transparency and dependability.
- Analyze vulnerabilities in distributed systems and study system behavior under stress to strengthen resilience.
- Engage in ongoing learning about mineral exploration through reading, team discussions, field rotations, and fieldwork with geologists.
