Join The Zebra as a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer on our Applied AI team. You will work on a broad set of technologies, including frontend and backend web development, data pipelines, and leveraging LLMs for both internal and consumer-facing applications. Your work will span experimental rapid-prototyping projects as well as building long-term, sustainable, and scalable solutions.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our comparison product and other products using Python, Django, FastAPI, GraphQL, ReactJS, and other modern technologies.
- Deliver focused, maintainable, and performant code across different business areas, from adding functionality to existing microservices to creating new features for growth into new insurance lines.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and leadership to rapidly build, iterate, test, and deploy new features while maintaining a high-quality, robust codebase.
- Improve and scale existing products and tools to support our growth.
- Act as a technical leader for the team and grow other engineers through example and mentorship.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional programming experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in HTML/CSS and Javascript, particularly with React applications.
- Strong understanding of and experience with one of the following: Python, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, or Go.
- Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Comfort with the Linux/Unix command line.
- Exceptional and proven web development experience.
- Eagerness to take ownership of work and collaborate through the full product development lifecycle.
- A track record of delivering quality code in a timely fashion.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python as the preferred language.
- Experience working on consumer-facing web products, growth-phase startups, or using A/B testing and data to drive product decisions.
- Experience with Django, AWS, React, microservice architectures, and web API design.
- Experience with using AI tools for development.
- Experience developing software that leverages LLMs and developing data sets for ML/AI applications.
